Chapter Sixty-Five
byThe Valg demon within Duva is revealed to be a parasitic entity, deeply embedded in the princess’s mind and blood. Yrene’s magic flares as she prepares to confront it, her hands glowing with white light that acts as a protective barrier. The demon senses her approach and panics, causing Duva’s body to convulse uncontrollably. Despite the chaos, Yrene remains determined, guided by an invisible force as she places her hands on Duva’s chest. A brilliant light erupts, momentarily blinding those present before being absorbed into the princess, pulling Yrene into a metaphysical battle within Duva’s body.
Inside Duva, Yrene confronts the Valg demon in a dark, storm-like realm. The entity is ancient and malevolent, taunting her with threats of doom. Yrene responds by unleashing her healing magic in a torrent of white light, systematically purging the corruption from Duva’s veins and mind. The demon fights back, but Yrene’s resolve is unshaken, bolstered by Chaol’s comforting presence. Meanwhile, a blacksmith destroys the ring, revealing a black stone at its core, which further enrages the demon. The battle is grueling, with Yrene pushing her limits to cleanse every trace of the Valg’s influence.
In the final confrontation, Yrene faces the demon’s true form—a grotesque, otherworldly creature with slick gray skin and piercing dark eyes. It mockingly reveals itself as a Valg princess, warning that its sisters will come for Yrene. Undeterred, Yrene condemns the demon’s cowardice and obliterates it with her magic. As the last remnants of darkness are destroyed, Yrene collapses, exhausted but victorious. The chapter ends with Chaol and others rushing to her aid, leaving the aftermath of the battle and the demon’s ominous warning hanging in the air.
