In the final chapter of The Circus Boys In Dixie Land, Phil and Teddy are faced with a dangerous situation involving Wallace, a powerful lion. As Phil struggles to control the restless beast, he hears the sound of a circus wagon approaching, signaling the arrival of help. In a bold move, Phil uses a torch to scare Wallace back, narrowly avoiding a potentially fatal encounter. Meanwhile, Teddy, having secured a lion cage, instructs the crew to position it by the back door, planning to lure Wallace into the cage by using his mate’s scent. The plan succeeds, and Wallace is safely captured.

Phil’s bravery does not go unnoticed, and Mr. Sparling, the showman, expresses his admiration, calling Phil a hero for saving lives and capturing the valuable lion. As they make their way back to the lot, Mr. Sparling worries about the condition of the big top, which was damaged in a storm. Phil suggests repairing it and pressing on with the season, determined not to let a gale end their performances. Mr. Sparling is inspired by Phil’s resolve, and the circus prepares to continue.

The showmen work tirelessly through the night to repair the tent and prepare for the next performance. Despite their exhaustion, Phil and Teddy take pride in their accomplishments. When they reach the next town, they are hailed as heroes for their role in capturing Wallace. The circus continues to perform, and by the season’s end, the boys are honored with a banquet in their honor. After bidding farewell to the circus family, Phil and Teddy return to Edmeston to complete their high school education, with the promise of more adventures to come next season.
